Family -- the ultimate Horror game

I just disowned my father and brother last night. I don't mean I'm mad at them, and we'll get over it. I mean that I'm in process of having them served with a "no-contact order". They are that insane. They called me to complain about an e-mail that went out 2 months ago. One called me a liar, and the other is mad that I forwarded it to the other one. Crazy stuff.Nothing new aside from that. I'll have a better post tomorrow, once I've calmed down.See More

My ideal MMO: Not an MMO

I love having the ability to play online with others, but most of my time is spent soloing, and waiting for a rare mob to pop before someone else gets it. It's frustrating, but I hate games that are centered around instances for PvE. My dream game would be something like most FPS (start your own private server allowing only people you want to group with, or play solo). The ideal is a persistent game world with the option to invite people. 3D Diablo 2 with persistence, in essence. Why can't game…See More

Would you like Error Checking with that?

OK, I've written a couple tiny open-source (GPLv2) scripts, and people seem to like them. Great. I'm happy that people find what I make to be of some value. What is driving me crazy is the "unwritten rule of open-source programming": You have created free apps, so your time must be worth nothing, so I demand that you improve upon your script at no cost so I can make a bundle of money.Not. Going. To. Happen.I wrote most of my open-source scripts for the company I work for, and when they decide…See More

My grandfather was a famous musician, but this isn't about his fame. This is about his cooking. His name was Wingy Manone. He is famous for writing a song that later became Glen Millers famous song "In the Mood".

Wingy was know as Wingy because of an accident that he had as a child. When he was 12, he was riding bike between 2 box cars (read: trolley), and he made the mistake of putting his arm out. It got promptly… Continue

Ok, I'm 29, and proud of it. Not uber old (88) and not too young to know what's going on. I had my fill of chatting back in the 90's, and got tired of it. I was tired of chatting with people who had the vocabulary of a gnat, and the mental capacity that was hard pressed to stretch beyond "a/s/l". I've been perfectly content living in a world without IM apps, blogs, and cat...ermmm..chat rooms. Speaking of cats: WTF is with all the lolcats?!? But I digress; I'm here to tell you about the social… Continue
