Well, I don't think it's ever mentioned in the show what they play.

I think Felicia wrote it to be her own made up MMO as to be fully creative with her writing. The characters do mention a lot of things from WOW above all else. (Which I'm starting soon) The only thing I've recalled from Guild Wars is when Codex is telling Tink about the new "Ranger" pets in the new expansion. I'm not sure if that's the game she got it from but it's the only one I know that identifies Hunters as Rangers.

She was probably calling them rangers instead of hunters because she didn't want to hint towards WoW too much, so all MMO players can relate, because some people are bias and don't like WoW. Felicia has admitted that she plays a gnome warlock in WoW outside of the webshow, so I'm sure that The Guild is playing WoW, it's just never admitted because they don't want to file paperwork or anything requesting permission to use the copyright name from blizzard and they don't want to anger the fanbase that doesn't like WoW.

That seems more plausible actually lol

Its main focus is world of warcraft, but like Fergotten said it's built to appeal to pretty much the entire mmo fan base since WoW isn't the only mmorpg out there (its just 60% of it). Also by not showing or mentioning the game directly means that they don't have to render a false 3D game constantly or create props that would advertise/promote it (that would easily double production time).

it would be hillarious if 'the game' was just them dressed up in their outfits, standing around talking like they do in real life lol.
