Watch The Guild

Hey

After watching The Guild (cos it makes it all sound so much fun :P) I decided to download the 10 day free trial of WoW, but the download is going really slow, and it says it's gonna take 30 hours. Is there anything I can do to make it faster?

Thanks

I subscribed to the WoW credit card (yes, they have one). All of your purchases equate to points. Once you have enough, you can use those to pay off your monthly subscription fee. Since I use credit for everything, I have the next 6 months paid off already (I'm on the six month pay agreement - so $12/month). I can even gift that credit to other players' accounts, which is always a nice Xmas gift for my WoW friends.
I guess this is a bit late, but for anyone who's downloading using the Blizzard downloader, it's a Bitorrent-like client. You may need to open ports. Many routers and firewalls have some of the ports blocked by default. (There are some reports of ISPs blocking such 'torret-like services, too.) I don't know the link but there's information on the Blizzard site about it.

Getting the fresh client for the first time will still be longer than usual, though, even with the Blizzard downloader. Sources are limited to people actively downloading the file (and those who have left the downloader running afterwards). There will be a lot fewer people downloading the initial clients and earlier patches than the current patches.

If you trust someone who already has the downloads and patches, can get the files from them faster and feel comfortable with a manual install and patching, you can do it that way, too.

During updates, Blizzard sometimes takes down the "tracker" services, and you'll only have the Blizzard source available, which is likely getting hit by more people than that one source can handle efficiently.
So, whos hit 80 yet? I'm 78 on my Boomkin and 65 on my DK. I'm dredging along trying to hit 80 now. I hate to quest Id rather do instances. The majority of my guildmates are lower than I am so I'm trying to not out level them. When I finally hit 80 w/ this toon I think im not going to level my other 70s for awhile. Its burning me out a bit doing just this one. Not sure If I'll concentrate on my DK afterwards or not. I just want to start raiding Naxx and getting into the other raid instances. My guild is only a 10 man raiding guild so we wont be seeing the bigger raids unless we join up with another guild for a 25 man sometime.

Anyway, whats your levels so far?
Heh. Just got to Dalaran last night. We're casual noobs (meaning Alliance). We read every book and every quest and wait for every dialog (unless it's a repeatable/daily, then we skip the subsequent repeats). I, then, go further trying to figure out the logic behind using 4 mushrooms from the sewers to make some kind of meatloaf to hand to some guy I have not even met, yet.
Just hit level 80 yesterday :) But i do recommend tryint to stay at the same pace as your guidies. its boring to be the first one to level cap and then have to sit there and wait a week while everyone catches up (did that last xpac). So take your time enjoy the new content and get there when you get there is my advice to people.
NO! if i play WoW i will never be able to chat with you guys cuz EVRY FUCKING TIME I TURN ON A COMPUTER I WILL PLAY WoW so thats a good reason :)
